Class of 73′ Alum Byron Acohido visited the campus of Damien Memorial School. Byron is a journalist and author, he is a recipient of the 1997 Pulitzer Prize for Beat Journalism. he is currently a technology reporter for the USA Today. He spoke to the Kamiano Newswiting staff about investigative reporting, ethics and his career in journalism. This winter, Damien Memorial School’s Annual “Evening of the Arts” showcased the many talents Damien has to offer. They also added special guest pianist, David Hicken. The art exhibition featured work created in Mr. Souza’s class and the concert band conducted by Mr. Sato.

On behalf of the Class of 2014, faculty & staff, and administrators of Damien Memorial School, we would like to thank everyone who donated items and monetary gifts to aid the victims of the Thypoon Haiyan in the province of Tacloban, Philippines. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we have collected, sorted and packed 396 boxes full of food, clothing, linens, towels, bags, footwear, toiletries, diapers, and kitchen supplies. We also collected $6149.07 in monetary donations.
