DAMIEN HOMECOMING SPIRIT WEEK OCTOBER 12th – 16th

DONATE THE SPECIFIED ITEM AND DRESS UP FOR THE DAY!

CLASS COLORS MONDAY:
Class shirts/clothing that is PREDOMINANTLY your class color (shirts, blouses, tees, pants, socks) Jeans or shorts are allowed. Class shirts from previous years may be worn.

- Middle School: Orange
- Freshmen: Red
- Sophomores: Green
- Juniors: Blue
- Seniors: Orange
- Faculty: Black

**Donation: One unopened can of corned beef – must NOT be expired

GREASE DAY TUESDAY(1950’s dress day):
Poodle skirts, cat-eye glasses, neck scarves, white tee-shirts, jeans, leather jackets, converse shoes, slicked back hair.  DO YOUR RESEARCH (Ex: no tie-dye, hippie clothing –that’s from the ‘60s)!!

 **Donation: Hand towel (new or used is fine – if used it must be washed).

ON WEDNESDAYS WE WEAR PINK:
Pink polos, tees, shirts, blouses, socks, shoes - wear pink to help support breast cancer awareness. You may wear a pink shirt/tee/blouse with regular jeans, shorts – the goal is to get as many students to participate as possible – it’s for a good cause!!

**Donation: $1.00 (collected by your homecoming teacher) to support the Susan G. Komen Fund (HR teachers – an envelope will be provided for you, please place the donations in the envelope and seal it before giving it to a SG representative)

THEATRE THURSDAY:
Dress as your favorite movie or Broadway character (SEE GUIDELINES BELOW)

**Donation: One can of unopened SPAM – must not be expired

 MAUVE & GOLD FRIDAY: PREDOMINANTLY Gold or mauve/purple colored clothing (shirts, blouses, tees, polos, socks) – can wear mauve/purple or gold top with regular jeans or shorts.

**Donation: One FULL-SIZED SEALED BOX of toothpaste – must be NEW in the BOX – Repeat: tubes MUST be in a SEALED toothpaste box.

 

IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO DONATE/DRESS UP YOU MUST BE IN REGULAR DRESS CODE – NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Non-compliance with guidelines = detention (issued by HR teacher)

Homeroom teachers will verify students meet the dress code requirements and will collect the donation items.  SG will collect the donations items before the end of homeroom.

 

GUIDELINES FOR ALL DRESS DOWN DAYS:

Females:

1.  Capris and leggings are allowed

2.  No spaghetti straps, tube tops, halter tops (side body must be covered)

3.  No midriffs or exposed cleavage, side of body showing

4.  No see-through clothing

5.  Shorts MUST pass the “fingertip” rule

6.  No slippers

7.  Sandals must have a back strap

8. Hats may be worn, but removed inside school classrooms/buildings

9. No profanity or vulgar language allowed on shirts

 

Males:

1.  Shirts must be worn at all times

2.  No profanity or vulgar language allowed on shirts

3.  No thin straps (side body must be covered)

4.  No slippers

5.  No sagging pants or jeans

6.  No see-through clothing

7. Shorts must meet the “fingertip rule”

8. Hats may be worn, but removed inside school classrooms/buildings

 

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:

Not Permitted:

  • Swim Suits
  • Masks may be worn but MUST be removed during class
  • Pajamas
  • Outfit that would require the participant to be shirtless
  • Transparent Material
  • Clothing/Props That Display Offensive Symbols or Related To Drugs/Alcohol
  • Face Painting is allowed HOWEVER – It must NOT be Excessively Bloody, Gory or Violent (This is movie character day – NOT Halloween J)
  • Real or Simulated Weapons Used as Props, Including Sword/Saber, Knife, Axe, Gun/Rifle, Etc.
  • Outfits in Poor Taste, I.E., Pregnant Nun, Pimp, French Maid
  • Outfits may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, nationality, disability, gender (boys as girls and vice versa), or individual (staff or student) at the school.
  • Costumes must not impair a student's vision or movement.
