The Damien Difference
For more than half a century, Damien Memorial School has made a difference in the lives of young people and our Oahu community.
As part of the Edmund Rice School Network, an international consortium of Catholic schools:
We are Devoted to preparing boys and girls from all walks of life for college and careers;
We have Dedicated faculty, counselors and staff;
We Develop the whole person by fostering spiritual growth; and
We are Dutiful advocates for the less fortunate through public service.
Nearly all Damien graduates pursue higher education, with many earning scholarships to the top colleges, universities and military academies in America. This prepares our alumni for the most demanding and rewarding careers of the 21st Century.
Along with Damien’s commitment to academic success, our school emphasizes the importance of elevating society through faith, volunteerism and philanthropy. This is in keeping with the mission of our sponsor, the Congregation of Christian Brothers, which calls for the campus community to stand in solidarity with those marginalized by poverty and injustice.
For these reasons, Damien keeps its tuition costs as low as possible so families of all socioeconomic backgrounds can enroll their children in our middle and high schools. Moreover, about 80 percent of Damien families receive financial aid from the school, the Catholic Church and other donors. And many of our students qualify for scholarships based on academic merit.
