Kacie Cabiles selected and shared at St. Damien Day celebration

This year the 9th grade students at Damien Memorial were tasked with writing a poem that not only shared their understanding of our school's namesake, St. Damien, but also put into words how they can recognize St. Damien in their life and world.

There were so many wonderful poems that were written.  Many of them saw the works of Father Damien paralleled by others in their community, and a poem even recalled family members that were literally touched by Father Damien's life.  The St. Damien poems came in forms of prayers or reflected in a recalled memory, but it was a poem written in a style of a letter by Kacie Cabiles that was selected to be shared at the upcoming celebration of St. Damien.
