Academic Scholarship
Merit Based, new students qualify for academic scholarships based on their Admissions application and criteria set by the School President. All incoming students are automatically considered for academic scholarships, and there is no need to formally apply. Scholarships are combinable with discounts and financial aid, up to 33% off the total tuition.

Our application service provider for our Tuition Scholarship Program is FACTS Grant & Aid. Reminder about AEF Tuition Scholarship Award and Tuition Accounts
Just a friendly reminder that the AEF tuition scholarship award can only be used for tuition and the tuition account must have a balance equivalent to or more than the scholarship amount when the school receives the AEF tuition award check (be sure your business managers or those who handle your tuition payments are aware of this).
Families who have paid in full, who then have a zero-tuition account balance, cannot be refunded using the AEF tuition scholarship award. This is also the case with those employees who receive full tuition benefit for their employment. At no time, should the AEF tuition scholarship award be used as a refund, credit to tuition account for future use or returned to families directly.

Applicants applying for grades K-12 will be notified via email if they will be awarded or not awarded a scholarship. We DO NOT notify preschoolers or junior kindergartners.
Enrollment Verification Window for Schools
May 1, 2024 – August 15, 2024
During this time schools will verify scholarship recipient’s enrollment. Recipients will still be asked to be registered at their intended school by June 1, 2024, to assist schools with planning for the upcoming school year.
Distribution Date
September 30, 2024
Checks will be mailed to schools on September 30 for credit to tuition accounts.
New students applying must:
Be a state of Hawai‘i resident (lived continuously in the state at least 12 months of application date)
Be entering grade 6 or 9
Be enrolled at a participating private school in Hawai‘i
Complete testing administered by KS
Returning students applying must:
Be a state of Hawai‘i resident (lived continuously in the state at least 12 months of application date)
Have used a Kīpona award for SY2023-24
Progress to the next grade level
THIRD-PARTY SCHOLARSHIP
Kipona Scholarship
Kamehameha Schools and Bishop Estate offers partial scholarships to students of Hawaiian ancestry who demonstrate financial need and seek to attend a private school in Hawaii other than Kamehameha Schools. Damien is a participating partner in this program, but students must apply directly through Kamehameha Schools and complete an annual renewal process.
This scholarship voids any in-house financial aid a student/family qualifies for. All other discounts are combinable.
