A World of Thanks: Celebrating Teachers Appreciation Week
As we wrap up another successful Teachers Appreciation Week, we are reminded of the incredible impact educators have on our lives. This year, the DHO embraced the theme “A World of Thanks” by taking our teachers and staff on a global journey—a heartfelt way to show our appreciation for their unwavering dedication to our keiki.

The week began with a festive trip to Mexico on Monday, complete with a lively Cinco de Mayo celebration after school. Teachers and staff enjoyed a taco bar, margaritas, sangria, and time to unwind after the school day.
Tuesday brought us to the American mainland with a Southern-inspired “Thanks, Y’all” theme featuring coffee, donuts, and classic apple pie. A highlight of the day was the unveiling of a brand-new Keurig coffee maker in the Teachers' Lounge, replacing the previous one and giving our staff a fresh start to their mornings.
On Wednesday, we journeyed to Japan, delighting in an array of unique and flavorful Japanese snacks that brought excitement and variety to the day.
Thursday was a staff favorite—Spa Day in Bali. Teachers enjoyed soothing chair massages and light refreshments throughout the day, embracing a moment of well-deserved relaxation and self-care.
We ended the week back home on Mahalo Friday, with a celebration of local flavors and school supply shopping. Thanks to the generosity of our families, we restocked the staff’s school supply closet, ensuring they are well-equipped for the remainder of the school year.
As we reflect on this special week, we are reminded that education is a universal language that transcends borders. Our teachers are true ambassadors of knowledge—shaping minds, inspiring hearts, and nurturing a brighter future for our global society.
The DHO extends our deepest mahalo to all educators who inspire, motivate, and guide our children each day. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we look forward to celebrating you and your achievements for many years to come.
