Celebrating a Golden Jubilee: Brother Sebastian Samp

We are proud to congratulate Brother Sebastian Samp of the Saint Damien Community in Honolulu on the celebration of his Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years as an Edmund Rice Christian Brother.

Over the past five decades, Brother Samp has faithfully served as a Brother, educator, and coach. He attributes his calling to teach because the Brothers taught him in high school.

When asked about what his favorite part of teaching is, he replied with “When the light goes on they have learned something”. 

We are deeply grateful for Brother Sebastian’s lifelong commitment to Catholic education and for the legacy he continues to build within our community.

Congratulations, Brother Sebastian, and thank you for 50 years of faithful service.
